  Gallmeyer Farm is a local vegetable farm that grows a wide range of crops throughout the year just outside of Richmond. As the vegetable season winds down, the farm opens up its annual Pumpkin Patch, which is located on the east side of the city, just minutes from many Richmond homes for sale. In addition to multiple varieties of pick-your-own pumpkins, the Pumpkin Patch offers family activities like hayrides, a straw bale maze, and spooky house tours.   Open seven days a week through November 1, Hanover Vegetable Farm is one of the most popular destinations in Central Virginia for seasonal fruits and veggies. The farm has been open since 1902, with a well-stocked farm stand and garden center. Pumpkin picking starts on September 27 this year, which is also the date of the farm's Annual Apple Cider & Bluegrass Festival. Hanover Vegetable Farm also hosts its 8th Annual Gourds, Goblets & Ghouls Festival on October 11-12, offering a wide array of family-friendly fall fun.

  The picturesque rolling landscape of Ashland Berry Farm offers unique farm attractions in all seasons. In the fall, the farm is known for having one of the best pumpkin patches in Central Virginia, including free parking and all-you-can-carry pumpkins for $30. Kids will also enjoy the farm's 3D Boo House, Fort Pumpkin, and Animal Corral, while the onsite donut shop provides treats for all. Ashland Berry Farm also hosts several haunted farm events throughout the fall season, with 2025 dates and details yet to be announced.

  A working family-owned farm that also serves as a popular wedding venue and event space, Lloyd Family Farms transforms into a fall family destination starting September 23. Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through October 26, the farm offers hay wagon rides, barnyard meet-and-greets, pony rides, a corn maze, a giant jump pad, a straw castle, and other seasonal activities. Lloyd Family Farms will have a wide selection of different pumpkin varieties available for purchase, and some of the best food trucks in the Richmond area will be on hand to provide food and drink each weekend. 
  
  
• Chesterfield Berry Farm - 26002 Pear Orchard Rd, Moseley, VA 23120
  As summer winds down and sunflower and sweet corn season comes to an end, Chesterfield Berry Farm shifts into fall mode. The farm's annual fall festival and pumpkin harvest includes duck races, wagon rides, and much more, with 2025 dates TBA. A variety of refreshments will be available, along with pre-picked and you-pick pumpkins. The 8-acre corn maze at Chesterfield Berry Farm is one of the largest and most elaborate in Virginia, making this charming family farm one of the most popular fall destinations near Chesterfield County homes for sale.
