Designed by Thomas Jefferson in the style of a classical Roman temple, the Capitol is a National Historic Monument and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Thanks to its stately appearance, the building has served as a stand-in for the White House and the United States Capitol in films such as Lincoln and The Candidate. The Capitol is open to the public 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

  Candela Books + Gallery uses a two-pronged approach in its mission to support and promote photography as an art form. The gallery stages 10 to 12 exhibitions per year, while the book side publishes one to two titles annually that coordinate with specific exhibitions.
